Do you own a BTL?

You could just mask off the trunk and that panel, put a layer of glass on it, then pop it out. And build a little frame off of it with MDF, and then have the enclosure butt up to it.

can't really. the opening isn't that large to fit a 15. plus not owning a table saw or router limits me making any angle cuts. in which the rest of the box can't sit flat with the baffle at an angle like yours. the sub won't sit that far back. it will most likely sit 1inch top frame from baffle, and about 3 inchs bottom baffle from frame.

Mine did not change much after a few hours of hard playing. Still pretty stiff as far as pushing the cones in by hand.

I agree, the BTL is awesome. Not many subs I have used will play low while still hitting hard in the 80-100 Hz range like they do.

In the right setup, they sound awesome to me. . .

I have mine crossed at around 60-70hz and its all over that higher end, much more than I need or even want for that matter. Some of the notes in that range are a bit too loud for me.

IA 40.1 per sub. . .They take it great, but for daily beating, I would not give them much more.

Running AA Mayhems right now. Dual 1 ohm coils, so each amp is running at 0.5 ohms. Plays music in the 156.x range.

Whats the specs on the 40.1's I cant remember off hand, and how were the BTLs wired? Dual 1's or 2's?

Thats insane doing mid-150s on music bro, man thats gotta be painful. How do you like the Mayhems from the BTL's? And how do they take the power?

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif at a BTL being musical. Mine loosened up a LITTLE bit after a few weeks, but with all those spiders I don't see it being "loose" for quite some time.

For the first few days I was impressed with mine, after that I realized how shitty it sounded. Not very musical at all IMO. Killed on the lows, but that's about it. Kick drums sounded muddy and mushed together with no impact. Might as well had a midge with a wooden spoon beating on a shoe box.........

how a sub sounds can have a lot to do with the box it is in. My H2 sounded great in my car but when I sold it, it sounded shitty to me in my buddys truck.

All about the box...i've got one in 10 cubes tuned in the 20's downstairs in the ht setup...

Nobody ever complains about having no impact or it being 'muddy'... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

They're actually shocked at how much it makes the floor and walls move lol.

My 15's are in 3 ft^3 each tuned to 35 Hz. Love the way they sound. . .

The 40.1 is "3600" watts at 1 ohm. I think I read a post they will do 4200-4400 with good 14+ battery voltage (mine stays around 14.1-14.2 at the amps). Never clamped mine to see what I am getting.

The BTL's were wired at 1 ohm, the Mayhems are wired at 0.5 ohms. Gained 1.8 dB going from 1 ohm to 0.5 ohms.

Mayhems and BTL's are similar, so there really was not much difference other than being louder with more output from the amps.

well I dont mean to thread jack but it sounds like we all got the answer for break in on em, while all the BTLs owners are in here though could anyone give me a rough estimate as what size and tuning they would do for two 15"s in a 4runner. THanks
