If you do how long did you run it before you fully broke it in. Ive got around 10 hours of play time or so on mine and its still very tight. Just wondering how many hours it roughly took to get everyone else's broken in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Also, how flat is the response with your driver? I am pretty impressed with the response I have now, much flatter than I expected I can honestly say I prefer the sound of my BTL with it being in the cabin over the 2 12" RL-P's that I had in my trunk which didnt have near as flat of a response.....

Wow, you like the sound of your BTL over 2 12 RL-p's?? I didnt do a break in period I just installed it and wang'd away. Its still pretty stiff but it has loosened up considerably since I first put it in(about 2 weeks ago).

Like most BTL's my low end is just plain ridiculous and falls off considerably up high. I'm gonna go a little smaller and tune a little higher on the new box I'm building to try to get a better all around response from it.

Im not talking about a break-in period, I threw it in and Im wangin the shit out of it, just wondering how long it took for most peoples to loosen up a little. Mine has slightly, if any at all.

And yes, I can honestly say I prefer the sound of the BTL over the RL-Ps I had. The low end is very potent, and the high end is honestly impressive.

My RL-P's liked the lows, but not too low. They fell apart on anything high. I had them in ~4.5 cube at 34hz I believe. The BTL is in around ~8 cube at ~32hz, oh and its an 18" btw

And I would have to disagree with anyone that says the BTL's cant sound good on music //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

One thing to remember though when Im comparing the RL-P's to the BTL is that the install is completely different between them. Where the RL-P's where in the trunk firing to the rear, the BTL is in place of the back seat inside of the cabin.

Yep it is all gonna depend on the install of course. My BTL is a 15" in 4.25^ft at 32hz in the ex-cab of a truck. I totally agree, the BTL can sound just fine musically in the right enclosure. I have a feeling I will like mine even more when I get the new install finished up.

I am just soooo impressed with how my setup has turned out with this thing. I dont think I could be happier with running a single woofer. It gets as loud as you could possibly need for a DD, and it plays every type of music I listen to very well.

I cant believe that I just finished the enclosure, tossed everything in, set the gain, and thats where I left off.

I have soo much more that I plan to do and it sounds this ****ing good already!

does waiting for one to be built then shipped count? lawl.

going to put it in a 4cu@33 on 2 saz1500d's strapped.

i just dont know if i want to face it foward/sealed from trunk or face the trunk.

Face it forward and seal that ***** off if you can do it.

Whats funny is I already wanna throw more power at this thing. I can get it movin pretty good, but its just laughing at the 2500-2900wrms Im throwing at it. I wanna get another KX 2500, recone it to a dual 2, and run a KX on each coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

if i face it foward i'd end up having a semi weird opening.

kinda like this one.

if i were to do this. would i position the enclosure all the way to the back of the trunk or pull it closest to the opening wall?

would i have to run with the seats folded down the majority of the time depending on the amout of clearance given from the wall of the back seat and the cone of the sub?

i've really considered on facing the sub foward to help relieve alot of the noise cause by the trunk and the rear panel.

About the only way to do it and still run the rear seat, is to build a frame off of that panel that comes across, and have a baffle attached to the frame. Then basically building the enclosure to slide up to that baffle and secure to it. Thats what I would do anyway, unless you wanna do this.....

i was thinking build the box maybe 2-3 inches behind the frame. then fiberglass the outside of the box into the tube portion of the frame. though before the fiberglassing i would deaden the back end of the frame to cover any holes and air leaks. or as many as i could. same with the rear panel.
