do you guys install sound dampening products?

hey guys,

i was wondering is it worth dishing out a couple hundred bucks and buying sound dampening products like RAAMmat?

how many ppl actually have sound dampeners installed in their cars and does it help?

where do you have the Dynamat's installed?

i'm guessing i only have to patch up the doors and the trunk...but do i really need to install on the floors, ceilings...etc etc?

when i had my old Blazer i was running 6 Cadence Bass pro's off 3 Soundstream MC500's i had the roof, sides, tailgate and floorboards completely dynamated from the fron to the back and filled in all gabs between quarter panels, tailgate, doors etc... with expandable foam. it still ralled a little bit around the tailgate but wasnt bad at all, only at very high volume....

in my civic i just have the trunk lined in dynamat and the pass and driver doors adn it works

good thread, altho I checked the date when I some dude was talking about "Dynamat does hav a new product on the market that i will be adding alot of to my car soon. its called dyamat extreme."

I use over 100^3 ft. of http://www.sounddeadeningmaterial.com and I love it. Everything out side my truck is unheard, except for my exhaust, ah ah, and I only have one complaint, you must use the heat treating (with a blow dryer or heat gun) because especialy here in the Texas heat if haven't heat treated it, the stuff will start to get soft and want to come off the surface that you put it on.
