This is the mentality that has killed car audio competition, IMO.
This should be looked at as a hobby, not a sport or anything like that.
How many people here play sports? Golf is a good example. Gotta pay for greens fees equipment, etc.
The same goes for a ton of other things.
I look at competitions as a chance to hang out with cool people and have some fun. I don't look to make money off of it.
The reason competition has slowed down is because of the cost to be competitive and the general state of the economy. When times get tough, you have to stop doing things that are necessities.
