Do I need to use the external crossovers for my comps?

I was thinking of running my 4 channel kicker zx850.4 amp to power my comps, I want to run the mids on 2 channels then my highs on the other 2 channels, they each have hi, lo crossover switch on the amp, can i just use the amp crossovers to power my comps, instead of having to also wire my speaker wires to the external crossovers that came with each set? thanks

im not exactly sure on this one.. just replying to give you back some input. i would say do crossovers for better sound. ive never thought about using the crossover on the amp to wire his and mids directly on the amp, but ive heard that you really have to watch how much power the tweeters will take cus you can easily blow them like that. hopefull you can get some better advice from someone else, but i would run them on crossovers. im sure you can find some decent crossovers on here from someone for a pretty cheap price

Yeah you can run them using the amp and HU's x-overs. Make the tweets front, and the mids back, or visa versa and control the x-overs thru the deck.

External x-overs make it pretty fool proof, but you dont have to use them.
