Hi again guys. I apologize for my questions but the search didnt quite help me out....that much.

My question is, I have 2 10" pioneer premier subs (800watts max/400watts rms) and a pioner premier amp that i want to run the subs 400 watts x 1 @ 4ohms.

My question, is that best buy wants like $80 for the god **** cables...lol... That seems alittle crazy to me because I can get the kits online for like $20-50. I just am not sure which kit to get? Maybe you guys could help? What would i need 4gauge or 8 ?

Kit 1 (4ga.):

Kit 2 (8ga):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3020854399&category=32808

Kit 3 (4ga):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3020748660&category=32808

So if I bought any of those I would be ready to go right? I could take it to best buy and they could install it with that and I wouldnt have to pay for amp kit or rca cables right?

Shit, if that is all I need I might try to install it myself lol.

Any of those kits should be fine...Personally I'd go ahead a nd go for the 4 gugage kit jus to be safe, but you should be fine off 8 as well. And dont take it to best buy, they are mostly idiots there. Do it yourself, its more fun...

Ok, I bought this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1498&item=3020213007&rd=1

Im gonna install it myself, with the help of a friend. Hes been at best buy for some time now and installs stereos all day long. Save myself about $100 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Good idea. It's more fun, and if there are any problems, you know how everything was installed and it's easier to find the error and fix it. Best Buy won't even allow the customer to be in the installing bay during installation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif :nono: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

Yeah it cant be that hard can it? I mean the hardest thing is problem drilling the hole through the firewall right? The rest is just wiring the amp to the subs and hu, correct? Or am I missing something because this just seems to easy. maybe I just figure if i can build computers I can install an amp and subs lol.

actually you dont even have to drill a hole in the firewall...its just a personal prefrance...you could run it in the door jams and under the back seat into the truck...

you just have to ground the amp, run the power cable to the trunk for the amp and run the rca cables from the hu to the trunk along with the remote and your done as far as the amp goes.

Yeah I seen that... I was like, hey thats cool... I can just hide the wire underneath the carpet right?

Right through the door jam there is an opening on the fender, and then the batter is right there, 1ft away. I might try that if we cant get ahold of a drill, although im sure he has 1.

Is that how you guys hide your wires? You like, slit the carpet....hide the wire underneath it and then seal the carpet down again? with what though?

DO NOT RUN YOUR POWER WIRE THROUGH YOUR DOOR JAM!

I dont exactly know what you mean, but when I hear this I think of people running it through "the easy way" and eventually splitting their wire because they shut the door on it. Take the extra time and find a nice place in your firewall to slide the wire through, its not that hard and most of the time you dont have to drill, just find an unused or oversized grommet...then run the wire under your carpet. If you can, try to run the power / signal cables on opposite sides of the car...

Just wondering....brock why is the difference if you run your power on one side and your signal on the other? if you do the door jam part right you will never shut your door on it...you wont even see it.....something else people do is run the battery outside under the car with that wire plastic protective cover...loom or somthing I think its called....to each their own...

Im not saying you can't run a wire propertly through the door, I'm just saying its pointless and most people don't do it correctly and end up messing something up. Its less work to just go through the firewall IMO. The reason for running signal cable opposite of the power is to reduce noises.

Oh aight I got you....well my power wire (scoshe 2 guage) is ran through my door jam...lol its done correct though...

My 2 sets of rcas (scoshe ice blue/white) are ran straight down the middle of my car...

I got no noise....

The issue of noise when your power/speaker wires are too close is one that is largely dependant upon the cables used. If all the wiring has good insulation on it, there shouldn't be any noticable noise problem (in theory). Of course, this doesn't always hold true even with the best insulated cables. In my experience, however, the number one source of electrical noise comes from bad grounds.
