K so I will be running a 2000 watt and a 300 watt amp to my 2002 Ford Explorer stock amp and the battery isn't stock but its just a diehard. I won't be listening to music with the engine off if thats why people need more than one battery. But will i need a 2nd battery to run this system efficiently?

I'm no expert by any means - but this is how people explain it to me.

#1: if you plan on upgrading in the future, might as well invest in one.

#2: If not, Install it how you want with the big 3, and if you're seeing voltage drops, work from there.

I'd go for a new alternator. There's no point in having multiple batteries if you can't keep them charged.
but i dont want to have more than one battery if i dont need it.

I wanted to know if i could run THIS system with just the big 3 done nothing else. I guess i got my answer from runteldat I will do big 3 without an extra bat and see whats up. Does anyone know how i can check to see if my voltage drops?

if its effiecient, thne i dont see a problem running it.

big 3, id at least do, with maybe a good under the hood batt, maybe a small one in the rear(a big one isnt truely needed)

with 1/0 throughout.
