Do i need more power?

I have two 12 inch JL Audio W6's, these are the older discontinued models. They are 600 watt max and 300 rms. I am running them with a Cadence TXA750D mono amp. they are running at 1.5 ohms and the amp is rated at 1x600watts @ 1 ohm. The question is is that enough power for them? They bump pretty hard and sound good but i think they could beat a little harder. I have a buddy who wants to sell me his Power Acoustic OV1 3000d class d mono amp. It is 1 ohm stable and pretty much brand new. So should i get that and use it instead, or what amp should i get, or is what i have a good setup? any info helps, thnx.

well whether you NEED more depends on a lot of things.

1. can the speakers actually handle more?

2. do you have the gain on your current amp set to where you are using the power at hand properly?

3. do you listen loud enough where you really feel the need for it?

and to gain 3db you'll need DOUBLE the power. so to get any worthwhile gain you'll need to double the power.
