Do I need bracing for this box?

This pic is not accurate, just something I drew up. The box might be deeper than it looks on the drawing. I know the ports serve as bracing, but I'm thinking I need a wooden dowel somewhere between the 15's? The subs weigh 30lbs a piece and will be downfired. The box height is about 15.1875". The double baffle on the front is to flush mount .75" plexi window. The amp is a Brutus BXi2607d if that helps? Do I need more bracing?

For sure the size of that box requires it or it will suffer from panel flex real bad like hopping around the car bad, just use the left over mdf you have to make some bracing for the largest panels of the enclosure. By adding a brace to the largest panel on center will reduce it's flex you won't need a ton of bracing but some would be better then none in an enclosure of that size with 2x15"s

I'd brace every panel you possibly can, so basically everything but the left and right sides. Definitely the back and the two interior port wall, as well as a brace from top to bottom in the middle of the box...the double baffle up front might be ok.

Thanks everyone. So how does 2 wooden dowels spaced out in the middle from top to bottom sound? What's the best way to brace the back wall, maybe small triangular braces spaced out? I don't want to lose much air space.

Yes god yes. Either all thread, or get 1" or bigger oak wooden dowels, or mdf made bracing. It's not that dowels affect sound, they take up such little space it shouldn't matter. I did dowel bracing in a box like this, I added more but I didnt take a pic after adding more in.

I want to do the metal, but might just do the dowels because the metal rod sticking outside the box will probably kill the look of the vinyl that I'm covering it with.

i have 5 1/2 inch all thread runs and a 2x4 for bracing. u can never be too sure

man that looks like poo. But I bet is killer loud. Yea dowels are nice for a clean look. But all thread is the best . I use either depending on customer request. For the latest install with dowels the customer wanted a clean look so went that route.
