Do I need an equalizer?

I just bought 2 pioneer subs

Pioneer 12" DualVoiceCoil 2Ohm Subwoofer TS-W309D2 - Best Buy

Will be getting an amp soon.

What I wanted to know is, do i need an external equalizer? If yes, which one? I have an Acura with factory stereo and equalizer (built in; touch screen).

Please advise.

If you want the best sound from your factory speaker locations then yes, you need an equalizer. A separate DSP is the way to go, and if you haven't installed one I highly recommend you go to a sound quality specialist to have it installed and tuned. Soundscape in Plano may be worth talking to.

Not for a sub stage. When you get around to amping your main speakers then ask again.
