My setup is as follows

Big 3

0 Guage from battery back

4 guage to each amp

Amps:

door speakers

1x Kenwood KAC-8452

800 Watts max power

70 Watts x 4 max (4 ohms) RMS

90 Watts x 2 (2 ohms) RMS

Sub amps

2X Kenwood X811D

Maximum Output Power (14.4V): 1600W

Rated Output Power (14.4V)

400W x 1 at 20-200Hz 0.5%THD (4 Ohms)

800W x 1 at 100Hz 0.5%THD (2 Ohms)

Over 1000W x 1 at 100Hz 1.0%THD (1 Ohms)

Rated Output Power (12.0V)

300W x 1 at 20-200Hz 0.5%THD (4 Ohms)

600W x 1 at 100Hz 0.5%THD (2 Ohms)

I have 2 06 L7's with dual 4 ohm VC's to present a 2ohm load to each X811D amp.

They are in a 5cube 35hz tuned box; dont know if that matters...

My alternator is 130amp in a 03 grand cherokee

Im having the wiring finished tomorrow and am thinking about picking up a 34 yellow top from autozone and having that installed. Is the extra battery in my case a necessity at this point, good idea, or just a waste of money? Caps are expensive I would rather run the battery over a cap..

i would get the better battery and think about a ho alt. and don't even worry about getting a cap, it wouldn't help you out. at peak your system will draw at most 1600a+ depending at what load your speaker amp is wired at. i would think about a 200a alt. if i was you. without one you probably wont see the 800w to each sub.
