Running two 1000 watt amps right now and thinkin about a third 3 to 500...

Should i be running a capacitor? (from what i know they are for holding power when your system hits and neds a surge of power?)

this is on a full size truck with a regular duralast battery.. so no optima or anything special (wired with 4 guage)

the only use you'd have for a capacitor is getting one to trade to someone who's naive enough to think they're worth something, so they'll be stupid enough to trade you something like 0 gauge wire for a big three setup, a good battery, or a good alternator.

they are used for more sq stuff not what you need. you need a agm battery, deka 9a31 or find dbeezaudio on here and buy one of his batteries because they are rebadged deka 9a31s. a cap isn't going to do **** here. O and don't get an optima yellowtop, they are complete ****. The duralast gold is better than the optima yellowtop IMO and experience.

no, upgrade your electrical. and if you do decide to go with the capacitor route make sure you follow every step of the install, even the last one where you kill yourself as soon as your done putting it in...

get rid of those daamn things!! they do more harm than good..... every time you add one it puts more stress on your alt!! why would u want to do that yo..??!!!

Think of it like this...

Your amp is full of little compactors that store up energy.. if they are not getting enough to run the amp properly what makes you think a cap is gonna do any more good? Even what little bit of energy they do store.. once the stystem actually hits like 12 v.. then the cap puts out all its energy its got.. and you get nothing from it..

Once its gone the Alt, bat has to recharge it as well as try and run the amp.. hence the lose of even more power..

But hey I got in the closet I just used as meters.. I'll sell ya both for 25 bucks.. :p
