Do you need a capacitor? No. All your equipment already has it's own built in capacitance.

Apart from that, all you need is what is needed to hook up any amplifier. Power, ground, remote, rcas, speaker wires, and speakers. An amp kit should provide all that.

What I was trying to accomplish by that post is to see if he would even know the point to it. Maybe he should do some research to find out what he will need to do before he follows through with this.

Can you tell me what a cap will do for you?
Sure! They keep the sun out of your eyes on bright days! They also keep your head warm when it's cold. =)

In electronics, they store electricity for quick discharge, like a bass hit. Not much use for them until you read into them for a good year to find out their true uses and how to make them a useful component to your system.

To answer your question on a more straight forward lvl, no, you do not NEED a capacitor. Chances are, it would not help as much as you think it would, and the upgrade of the big 3, a new battery and/or new, bigger alternator would be a lot better for you. Now, when you get an electrical system that is above par for your current electrical demands, then an external capacitor may be something to look into, simply because it would not be such a strain on your system. get me or do I need to go into the archives and pull up some threads as to why this is so?

i get u..thanks a lot...good stuff guys...so ill just get a second amp installed and power my fronts..

its just that lot of ppl who think they know car audio say i need a cap...just wanted to make sure..
