Do I need a amplifier

I got a Kenwood x497 and I'm looking to get good sound quality. Right now it is connected straight to the speakers but I would like to know if adding an amplifier would increase sound quality and if so I recently got a MTX RT604 that works good, would that be a good option to use?

Is that 4 Pioneers? If so, yes it will sound better. Just watch the gains.

eh, ****** head unit bad sound. Good head unit, good sound, amped or not. Head unit is the main factor in SQ imo. Amping with aftermarket speakers is always a plus though as they will get louder and warmer.

Prolly not on stock speakers

Not true, before I got my components in, I tested out my stock speakers with my ppi p900.4, had the high pass up to 125hz and they took all the power fine and sounded clearer, louder and surprisingly did not smoke. Its a small improvement in clarity even on stock speakers, but they gotta block the bass out. I only had them in for a month though, but was blasting it daily.
