Do I Have Enough Power For A Sub??

I just purchased an Alpine Reciever (Spec = 45 watts peak power (16 watts RMS) x 4; Micro Dynamics high-power amplifier). Also puchased two 6.5" Pioneer speakers (160 watts peak power) and two 5 1/4" speakers (130 Watts peak power). SO...With all that said....do u think i could get a subwoofer without overpowering my new reciever?? I just want some thump, not a lot. Clarity is the main goal

If you want clarity then you might want to get an amplifier(s) for your speakers as well as one for a sub. I wouldn't power a sub off a headunit ever. If clarity is key maybe and you can't get a lot of amp power run two speakers off the headuint and the others plus the sub have amplifiers for them.
