Does it happen to be maxxcaliber? I have heard about this company here in Canada From what i have heard they are good drivers but have never played with one yet.
Hi thanks guys i did research and found out it's a Max caliber CA12150. I search it and found a link to a psmag review done in 2001 so I know it's atleast 4 years old, but it's a dead link like all of their older reviews so I can't tell how it did.
I went to their website and can't find the model on their maybe because it's so old. But I found another guy probably the only guy on the net that has these with pics http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=361450 he list the specs and they match the one my friend sent me. I don't know where they got the specs. So I don't know if it's believable. The guy also has a site where he uses the driver in his home system http://webhome.idirect.com/~orange1/diysub/
Anyways if the sub is worthy for his high end home system then i guess it's good enough for my crummy car. I have decided to build a box, I've been reading the box building section. So I need your guys opinion do you think this sub can work in a sealed box? I ask because the other guy ported it and I know some subs only sound good in a specific type of enclosure due to it's specs. Or should I build a ported box and steal his box dimensions (Hahaha)
If it's the same guy I'm thinking of, that home sub setup he had was listed on Ebay not long ago. I would give it a try sealed, can always make a ported if it comes down to it right? Anyways, if you throw some power at it with a good box I have no doubt it will fill your low frequency cravings.
