Do amps make sub sound different

Yup, the cleaner the amps power is the more crisp it will sound, but I wouldn't worry about it much unless your going for competition and have some serious dough to spend. A basic jl 5001 will do the trick for any sub that needs to be clean.

The only time ive heard a differance on subs was when power was increased.

I cuold not tell the differance in sound from a 1000/1 and a nine.1, Also had a BMF1000d no differance

I don't think its even possible to hear the difference with the human ear unless you get above 5 right?

From what I have learned the less impendance that the amp lets flow the more crisp the sound is. However as I stated and others have any decent brand jl will do the job perfectly.

Hmm, I've never heard that. Any link to where you read/learned this? The only thing I have read about using a higher impedance is your amp will run cooler and more efficiently, but never that it will have an effect on how "crisp" the sound is.

You have to look at their frequency response, S/N (signal to noise) ratio, slope of frequency response, How clean the power is, and the amp's efficiency to reproduce the signal.
