Hey everybody, haven't posted on here in a while, but I finally got my SA-15 hooked up and beating in my Grand Prix. It's got dual 2 coils, and I kinda wanted d4 so I could run the amplifier at 2 ohms instead of 1. The amp (Kenwood KAC-9105d) is rated about the same at 2 and 1, but 2 is usually easier on the amplifier and the electrical system.
Anyway, I don't have an o-scope, but a friend of mine has the same exact amplifier. He's got his gain set to where there's no clipping, but he's running at 2 ohms, my sub's running at 1. I put my gain in the same spot he did, hoping to avoid any clipping or bad signal going to my sub. But I was just wondering if there'd be a difference in clipping or a distorted signal since I'm running my sub at 1 ohm instead of 2. Is running at 1 ohm daily pretty hard on most amplifiers? And for that matter, anybody wanna trade a d4 SA-15 for a d2? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
