i will be running active and so "SQ" in an amp comes to nice crossover, low distortion, build quiltyand be able to not get hot. The Sundown has way more power than the DLS, but i was wondering which one has the better crossover for going active and low distortion?

Are you planning on running active using the amplifier's built in crossover?

Also, which specific DLS amps were you looking at?

I wouldn't worry about distortion; both amps will have inaudible amounts assuming you don't overdrive them.

I wouldn't be concerned running either. Pick the one that makes you happy and spend some time on your install instead of worrying whether you bought the right amp.

Sundown will let you bandpass the mids if you can't go active with your HU.

Could also look into a Helix Dark Blue 4 channel as it will let you BP the mids.

if you were going active i would think you would want an external processor. imo amps are used to generate power. if you setup your gains properly, and setup your processing, i don't see why an amp would cause distortion in your speakers. correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't an amplifier just suppose to amplify the signal to your speakers?

actually his e-penis would increase with a sundown cause they seem to be the forum boner. the DLS is close to the sundown. you'll have a boner, but it'll have herpes and no one wants a boner with herpes

DLS, They seem to have a smaller / better footprint. For me though it usualy boils down to price if not size, they are both really nice so it depends what you want to do. I would LOVE to get my hands on an A3 twin mono...But ended up with a deal on the Diamond 1200.1 for a fraction of the cost.

cant comment on sundown,nver heard of them actually but

DLS is all top grade chit,every product they produce is

best in class..

I am actually looking to run an A5 amp(3ch) in my F350 to power up

a set of Crystals and an old Dia M6 I have hanging around for a moderate

system

I do not have experience with the sundown amps but I can say, DLS has the best amplifiers I have ever used...
