Display not working

I recently installed a clarion vrx755vd in dash dvd player. I have everything wired correct. When I turn the ignition on the HU lights up and the fan starts. What is wrong is that the screen will not open and the display remains blank. What could be the problem with this??

Please I really need help.

I spent the last hour re wiring it all and I am still having the problems. I didn't buy the unit from a dealer so I can't use the waranty. Before I take it into a shop and have to pay to have it looked at I was hoping someone would know what to do.

possibly the brake safety switch? I think a kenwood if the brake switch is not hooke dup correctly it will not allow the screen to work sicne you are suppsoed to be parekd and wiht the ebrake on

I have that hooked up. Is there anything else you think it could be?
