disabled car

the question isn't if my dad should let me drink or not you newbz, i'm just asking wtf he could have done. I doubt he got under the car and he didnt pull any fuses as i remember exactly where all the fuses were in the car from before. I'm gonna go check again though to find out.

im the noob. lol ok

It's not like he's 12 years old and snorting coke.

He's 19. He is old enough to know what he is doing.

After all, at his age, he could have already died in the military. How bad is it that he drinks? As long as he does so responsibly.

I drank when I was 18, and I'm perfectly fine. I couldn't ask for any better parents.

Last night my dad didn't want me to leave the x-mas party because he thought i was drunk even though i had 2 jack and cokes and that is it. I go out to my burban and everything turns on except the starter is not getting any juice. Wtf did my dad pull i mean my system worked and all the wires underneath the hood were still hooked up. I am just really confused on how he did it.
Wut year burb? our 95 has a sticky starter. Sometimes you have to whack it a couple good times before it spins.

And yeah... the way i see it, if youre old enough to die for your country, youre old enough to do so with a beer in your hand. Yes i drink, occasionally. My dad told me when i got my first car, "I know youre going to go out and party, there's really nothing i can do to stop it. But if you get too drunk to drive, or drink at all, just all me or a cab. I wont ask any questions, and I'll try not to get too angry. Same goes for your friends." He told me the way he sees it, as much problems with anger and stuff as he has, it would **** more for me to risk my life or have my friends do the same, than to get angry over petty drinking.

That being said, i dont get shit faced, i dont drink and drive with friends... though i have driven tipsy before, alone at 2AM.

so by your definition, its completely irresponsible for a parent to let their child drink the day before they turn 21, but totally cool the next day.

life is not always black and white, fool.

Hmm, Im still guessing fuses to be honest since they are the easiest without ****ing something up. Go ahead and double check them. Its definently something electrical though of course. He may have unhooked something else like the ignition coil or a vital sensor. Its really a tough call EXACTLY which one he may have pulled. There are a lot of fail-safes in these newer engines.

found it , the bastard unplugged the ecu behind the glovebox lol. Looked at it and left it how it is so i can fix it next time lol. I thought it would be fuses as well but all were there in fine condition.

exactly

It's different parents ways of seeing it. Just about all kids will drink before they're 18. Sure there's the few exceptions that will say "I never drank underage," but for the majority, most have.

My mom always gave me complete freedom, but then again, I've maintained perfect grades, top ranks in my class, and never been in major trouble.

It's all about trust. She would rather let me have a small drink with her, than to go out to a friends party to get hammered. The kids who have parents forbid drinking completely are usually the kids that are "experimenting" with a bottle of Jack Daniels and driving home to make it in time for curfew...

Yeah, my parents fully understand being a teenager, seeing as how they were once. Though it sounds like Mike never was. But its all about trust. My parents dont have sticks up their ***** about me drinking because they know I am responsible enough to never do anything stupid like drive home. I never have more than 1 glass or so if I know I cant stay there. If I can chill at that place for the evening or stay there long enough to sober up, then I'll have fun. If not, if I accidently get a little out of hand, then I can always call my parents to pick me up. If its like 3am, they might be a little sour its so late, but they would rather do so than I drive.
