diregarding the cost, 12w7...

All right, I was quoted 1357 before sales tax for the JL 12W7, the JL ProWedge sealed box, a Rockford Fosgate 1001bd amp, along with the wiring, nobs and installation. Does this sound like a good price for the package considering it will be coming from an authorized dealer with all of the warranties?
Not bad for w7 and installation. Hopefully it's a good install //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Sounds like a good price for the equipment and the install. Make sure they do a good job on the install, though, as a local shop ripped me off hardcore on installing a set of components and an amp (wound up charging me nearly $400 including work that I never authorized them to do).

well id imagine theyd do a good job. Its being installed into a Range rover which has a factory sub (concealed) so i am going to have that taken out and will store the amp in there. Then it should be clean no matter what, right?

It should be ...

Hopefully they do a worthy install - after all, you are dropping a fair amount of cash in there. Personally, I'd ask for references, and follow them up. It truly isn't worth being out a lot of money because you've had to take your car to shop after shop to correct the previous mistakes.

true, the question is what types of mistakes can you make? The sub is already in the JL box so there will be nothing done wrong there. I suppose you're refering to connecting the amp to the power supply?

yea, and make sure that they secure stuff solidly and stuff like that.

be SURE that they use 0awg wire at the least. none of this 4awg crap...

I'd listen to the Diamond Audio TDX's. They can be had for only about $300 and they sound extremely good in term of SQ. Two of them are about the same cost as 1 W7.

Under those circumstances the W7 will be blown away by the (2) TDX's in 1.0 cubic feet sealed boxes (just my opinion). Yes I said it!

Sorry, a little late on the advice, already purchased IT ALL.

Nate: In terms of fastening things into place, do you think ill need to actually tighten the enclosure to the floor - the thing weighs nearly 70 pounds. Im using moster cable wires.

For wiring and kits, I got all monster cable:

"High Performance 1000 Watt 4-Gauge Multi Amplifier Connection Kit"

" XLN® 12 Gauge Speaker Cable"

"Interlink® MicroXLN® (2 Channel) Car Audio Ultra Compact Design Interconnect"

and a

"Tsunami FL-LOC600 Filter Adjust Line Output Converter"

if the enclosure stays in place, then don't worry about it.

i would have gone with a 0-guage wiring kit, however...

what is the difference - the kit is made for a thousand watts and thats what my amp is
0awg is always just better to have, and your amp should put out more than a thousands watts (it's underrated).

you're probably okay, but 0awg is always a good choice if you can afford it, and i get the feeling that you can //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

try upgrading some other wires in your car just to be safe. start with the battery to body ground. should only take you a few minutes...

all right, well the system is currently being installed, but I still have about two hours until I have to make a decision on the capacitator. I know a lot of people say wait and see, but I was told that if I don't do it from the get go, it will be more install time because things will need to be rewired. Should I still wait and see?
