if i were to do it, i would either cut out a piece of the dash or center console if it goes all of the way to the dashboard. then i would make a baffle for the speaker and use body filler to mold it into the dash, then i would pull it out, texturize it to match the dashboard, then paint it with matching paint from the dashboard.

or

cut out the dash, make a piece for the speaker to mount to, drop it in the dash, then make a grille with a frame, then a screen with mesh laid over the top. then use body filler to fill in the gap to make a seamless transition between the grille and the dash

the install is pocket change. the speaker/ amp is a little more, but that was part of the deal anyway. he knew what he was in for, but to take the install to the next level, it is only pocket change.
