I love lamp.
ok, when i bought my car it came with pioneer 4x6's in the dash and 6x9's in the rear sail panels.......the previous owner had a small system, nothin crazy so i doubt they were driven that hard. I've had the car for about 2 years now and the speakers have always worked fine, until a few weeks ago I was in town listening to my music at a moderate bumping level (loud, but not "oh my god" loud) and all of a sudden the 4x6's started making a scratching, scraping buzzing noise but only when bass hits (or midbass, they're 4x6's) so now I can't play it that loud before they start crappin out again. At lower volumes they sound fine and you wouldn't know they were screwed up.
However, I recently noticed that my HU (pioneer 4600mp) gets really hot (like it almost hurts to touch the inside when you fold down the faceplate) it also heats my entire console up where after a while its uncomfortable to rest you knee on it. Could the HU heating up be causing the speakers to crap out?they worked fine with my jvc HU for 1.5yrs, and worked fine with this HU since october '04. It's weird because they just crapped out all of a sudden at the same time.
p.s i recently bought 5.25 comps and i just wanted to make sure the HU wouldn't screw them up to b4 i install them..........
pps, sorry for the long post, all help is greatly appreciated!!
