I have recently installed a new MechMan 240 amp alt. as well as upgrading the stock wire coming from the alt to the floor board with true 1/0 gauge 100% OFC wire and the ground wire in the trunk. The audio setup i have is two DC Level 4 12" 2 ohm DVC subs and an American Bass 175.1 VFL amp. despite the fact i have upgraded the alt. the lights still dim. does anyone know besides batteries what else could resolve this problem?

Yea, you have a 240A alternator. Your amp calls for a 250A fuse, so we can estimate its peak draw to be around 210A. Then you also have your other amp, I assume, as well as other car electronics...lights, radio, etc. Essentially, during those "peak" periods, your electrical demand is still more than the supply.
