dimming issue

I am going to have to agree here, seeing as if you put a longer, or shorter belt on your stock motor, I dont see how it could change the rpm of any pulleys without changing their size.

I could see how the belt length can affect the time it takes for the belt to make a complete revolution, but I dont see how it could affect the rotation of the pulley. ONLY the belt

exactly correct....if it was otherwise, i would mount my alternator in the trunk and run a belt around the auto

hmmm, not a bad idea lol. i could mount a 400a alt in my trunk then rig a combination of pulleys so that i could be creating my juice in the trunk of my car! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i had trouble following it sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
lol, ok here are the cliffnotes then.

i used 2 same size "pullies", 1 smaller "pulley", and a "belt" and conducted the test right in front of the computer.

i dont know how long the belt was, but this was a baseline just used to get some numbers.

2 same size pulleys on a X" length belt resulted in a 1:1 ratio as it should be.

1 big pulley and 1 small pulley on the same length belt resulted in a 1.25:1 ratio

then i shortened the belt by half or so and these are the results

2 same size pulleys on a X" length belt resulted in a 1:1 ratio as it should be.

1 big pulley and 1 small pulley on the same length belt resulted in a 1.25:1 ratio

so as you can see, belt size played no roll in determining how many revolutions either pulley made //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i just put as much detail in as i could to show that the candle holder and the pen holder are viable replacements for pullies for the test. thats all.

im basically using something similar to this to replace the pullies.
