Dim issue. Does this matter?

I have a dimming problem. Here is what I am running:

02 Ford F250 5.4L CrewCab ShortBed

Mechman 250A Rhino Alt

Optima YellowTop (that's been through 3 burnt out Alts)

1 Fi BL 12" @ 1 Ohm

Diamond Audio D6 1000.1

Diamond Audio D6 700.40

2 sets Polk Audio DB6500 Components(1 pair in front, 1 pair in rear)

I have 1/0 gauge running to a Streetwires 4ga. AGU fuse distro block which is ran to each amp.

1) Is the wire thick enough?

2) Should I get the battery replaced?

I've been told to get another battery primarily for my system.

3) If I do this, will I need to upgrade the Yellow Top also?

4) How will a second battery stop the dimming if the Alt is producing the same amount of power?

1. yes

2. if the battery is working why replace it?

3. most say that having non-matching batteries (age and brand/model) will result in premature battery death but others have posted with no problems. that is a choice you have to make.

4. it will give the amps another power source to draw from.
