By 95% do you mean the 2 people that had a problem? The 2 that made 30 threads about it on about 5 different forums?

It's probably kinda like the problem with AQ and the HDC's that some people had. But I'm sure much like the HDC's it will just work itself out. I own a 3512 and haven't had a single issue with it yet. I also haven't seen alot of threads about this problem but I'm sure if you contacted DD and made this obvious to them they could reassure you and if you do get them and they are making mechanical noises then call back and talk to them and I'm sure they will let you warranty them.

My issue was the result of an improper enclosure and not the sub its self. I believe Wilson's is the same issue. I heard his setup recently and although his got a good amount louder before I heard the noise. He has three.. very nice setup. He also has a loading wall. At this point I don't think him or I can blame the sub. He plans on testing all of his in the DD spec enclosure to verify his are all functioning fine.

im not trashing dd at all just seem to have seen quite a few problems with the 1500s recently. must be a batch of bad boxes i guess than.

so on another note how do those 1508s compare to that w7 ? what did you think of em?

ive herd dds tacoma with 4 1508s and 2 mb2s and it was some serious shit ill tell ya,, awesome!!

I never got to hear it in the right box. I have an IDmax 10 now I got from Wilson and he has the 1508 I had. Now we both want to hear each others setup when its done lol.

I've done several builds with the 9500's and they all sound fine and get plenty loud.
Have you talked with anyone at DD about this?

not sure if i wanna run the 15's cost more than i have to spend atm plus cutting a hole in my truck yikes!! too many negatives with the 15's i dont have a garage to park in, dont have a hard cover = too pricy, cuttin a hole, need better electrical , need more watts. now if i sell the 15s n get two 8's all i need to change would be a box dd's tacoma with 4 8's sounds awesome

Quick question...how bout some pics and specs on the boxes those w/ problems were using?

I won't lie, those 8's and 10's are VERY PICKY! I have built boxes too big for 2 1508's and go that rattling kinda sound, dropped them down to 1.4cuft and they were golden. That tiny cone is very over motored w/ the 1500 series, you MUST load the sub and port correctly.

As for the cracked basket in that one thread, yea...no questions asked that was either a flaw. (build, shipping, handling, somewhere)

My box was 1.15 cubic feet after sub displacement. Port was a 3" aero port tuned to 33hz. You can see it was way off from DD spec so its no wonder it made noise.
