Digital Audio Output

As I understand A/Dat optical can handle 8 channels at 48Khz 28bit.

I have never in all my systems of install come across a point where the cable would need to be bent too far. Although I don't think bending any cable too much is good for it, regardless if it works.

I know a lot of Alpines processors have Optical in. It's just so nice because you run ONE cable and have ZERO worries about interference. IF they are so worried about dumb people, maybe they could give us Balanced line outs (again). They wouldn't even have to invent a new connector. Just use 3.5mm Stereo Jacks as TRS connectors.

well theres also a thing called miscommunication.

when u take your car to a stereo shop and forget to tell them that you have the iptical cable running...

you will hear that OH SHIT WTF IS THIS THING WITH A LIGHT INSIDE IT comment eventually.

and you will be replacing your cable over and over either because someone pulled it, poked a hole in it, or squished it with a pannel.

i personally did that stupid mistake once on a bmw looking for a ignition wire... which happends to be same color as the optical lines running in the main kick pannel harness.

poked a lil hole in the insulation with my testlight.

got lucky because i didnt poke far enough to damage the optical line but i saw the lil red light. and it said to me"mmmm i sense shop damage" but everything worked like it should after testing...
