Different tint question

OK I live in Chicago where you can have any tint on the rear but no tint on the front but if you have tint on the front where you at least see in good enough to know what your doing the cops won't mess with you. I'm getting tint on the front now, have 5% on the rear already but I need to know how much can you see in with 20%? The tint shop I go to has 20% and 35% besides the 5% that I already have. Some people say 35% isn't worth it but I feel 20% may be too dark. So can anyone let me know exatcly how good you can see in the car with 20%? I want 20% but if it's too dark I'll have to go with the 35%.

20% provides some decent out looking in visibility in the daylight, but not much at night. Might be a toss up depending on the officer. But if you have any doubts or reservations, play it safe and go with 35%.

35% looks pretty **** good, lets you see in just enough and most cops wont care about it.

Hmm...I was told by the tint shop that the stock tint on suv's is 20% so I drove around yesterday which was pretty sunny looking at suv's windows and I could see right through with no problem. I just wish I could see a 35% to compare with the 20%.

What you really need to see is a vehicle that has the 5% on the back with the 35% in the other places. With having 5% on any window and then adding 20% the 20% actually looks darker just by having the 5% verses having say 35% or 20% all around.

My bad.

I posted a pic of my little car which has 35% on the front doors and then the rear doors, rear window, and the windshield "brow" (though you cannot see the windshield in the posted pic) are all done in 5%.

Thanks for the post, how good is the 35% when it comes to blocking the summer heat? Are you satisfied with the 35%?
