Difference Between L5 and L7?

yes i do have extensive use w/both of them.. .
i have heard them sound good in a good install but why struggle to make it sound good, why not just get a good sounding sub @ the start
Is that so? What boxes did you build for them, Warren? What about power levels? Did you test in multiple vehicles, with multipled levels of power and various alignments?

most people aren't skilled like you in the area of building or getting the "best out of a woofer" so they just build box to its specs & what's listed on the company's website

well throwing a sub in a box and calling it a day is not enough information to determine what a sub can and cannot do...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yes that is so john....i didn't bulid the boxes but i did hear different setups on boxes built to kicker specs, do u want sizes if so take your *** over to kicker.com and see.

yes i did hear in multiple vechicles, i'll list them for you..

honda & doge & blazer

differnet power levels, no.. all off differnet amps but the amps were all rated at the same power..

so finally like i said, why get something that you have to **** around with, why not just get something that you can have the box built to their specs slap an amp on the, do some tuning and bam, you have quality sound?

Because that doesn't always produce the desired results.

Different alignments can yield different results, not just 'better results'. I don't think you grasp that concept. Subs can made to sound HOW YOU WANT THEM TO, not just how the company THINKS the general users want them to. That is why most people come to the conclusion that kicker subs don't sound all that well...they put it in what Kicker thinks will yield the best results for general users, not realizing that the people at kicker are not aware of your tastes...

so i think we agree then..... the statement that i made ealier is geared towards the general audience... most people don't know all the stuff you know or have the ability to do the thigns that you do.... they just get the product and do what the company says do..... thinking that the company is gonna have the proper setup/design of a box to have it sound well...

Well I went off manufacturer specs guys. I think they say .79-1 cu ft? Something like that. Anyway my prefab R/T box is .80. If you can't go off of what the manufacturers say then what do you go off of? I have limited experience with mobile audio so that was the best reference I had. I mean I have heard these is similar size enclosures and it was nice.

I"m not really sure what you guys mean by sound quality anymore. My definition of good bass is tight crisp bass hits and being able to produce the low frequencies smoothly without distortion. Based on this definition I would say my friends kicker L5s were good quality.

But how would this sub compare to say a xxx, or and Adire Bhrama, or something that costs three times more?

Also how would I find out more about tuning my sub? Would I have to build a new box? I'm not sure I'd even want to after paying for a pre fab. Anything else you can do?
