Difference Between L5 and L7?

I looked at the specs on these speakers and they're really not all that different. Biggest difference I see is that the L7s look cooler cause they're silver. Specially the '04 model. L7 costs more too so I assume they must be better in some way. What is it?

Well in the old model, the L5's look better because they're all black and don't have the gray in the middle. The biggest difference between them is how much watts they can put out. The L5's peak power is 750 while the L7's is 1000.

nope nope both wrong, L5 is for SQ. L7 for for SPL/SQL

L7 has a way better response. I would rather have a comp VR over L5

the only difference is that the L5 has a cast basket and the L7 has a stamped steel therefore the L7 can take more power due to the lack of basket flex

Not sure where you're getting your info, but you might want to double check..

I hope the L5 is for Sound Quality cause that's what I'm more interested in. I don't see how it would provide better sound quality though if the L7 is a better sub.

you won't get that much sq w/a l5 but u'll get some.....

Too late for that. It was shipped to my house today. I don't regret it though. I bought the kicker cause it's the only one I've actually heard several times other than the JLs and I really liked the sound. What are brands that are considered for sound quality? What is the L5 considered for?

Incorrect.

Both woofers were obviously meant for a "loud" application. However, some people do use them in their SQ installs. The L7's have better suspension and higher power handling. They probably also have a higher sensitivity.

What do you mean by this? I'm just putting in a pre fab R/T box and calling it a day. I got the MB Quart Reference series for front speakers so I figure I'll get good sound quality from there.

yes i do have extensive use w/both of them.. .

i have heard them sound good in a good install but why struggle to make it sound good, why not just get a good sounding sub @ the start
