Did I wire my comps right?

phase is kind of important... wired out of phase they can sound very poor indeed very easily. i would check that out first.

make sure the positive output from the amp is going to the positive input to the crossover, and the positive outputs from the crossover are going to the positive inputs to the woofer and tweeter. same for negative.

i'd try switching the + and - for ONE of the speakers at the amp and see if that helps. not both speakers. it's either going to make it sound 1000% better if you wired them up backwards, or 1000%worse if they are wired up correctly. if it sounds worse that way, then there are other issues that can be addressed.

If I'm understanding this correctly, you connected the wires from the back of the HU to the crossovers?

I'm pretty sure that's what my dad did. I might be wrong, though...

The back speakers being run by the HU are much louder, too.

If the HU is running the front comps and rear speakers, then what is the amp running?

No, the HU is only running the rears. The comps are hooked up to the factory wiring to the HU, but I think my dad took those wires from the HU, hooked them to the crossover, which is then connected to the amp. Is this right??

It should be wired like so:

HU FRONT SPEAKER CHANNEL OUTPUTS --> LOC/AMP INPUTS

AMP OUTPUTS --> PASSIVE XOVERS INPUTS

PASSIVE XOVERS OUTPUTS --> MIDS AND TWEETS
