Did I just get ripped off on junk?

Okay so I bought two Lightning Audio refurbished S2.1000.1 amps off ebay. The seller had a lot of them and a 4 channel model and said they were bought in bulk and work great. These are 1 ohm stable amps that were being tried on 2 ohms today. First I hook one up with gain about 1/2 and slowly crank my radio up with car off and it's playing just fine so I start my car with the radiy on and it blew the amps fuses so I'm like wtf it played for a whole 5 seconds. I put new fuses in there and then try powering the amp and it instantly goes up in smoke. So I wire the other up and it plays just fine with car running for a half hour and then I turn my car off and it goes into protect 5 seconds later and will not come out. These amps were not even being pushed hard as the gain was not cranked and it was only on a 2 ohm load. These are wired with 1 gauge only 4 foot from a 900 cold cranking amp battery. I use to run a 900 watt rms class ab amp that pulled twice as many amps and run the battery dead and it never hurt it. So I think I just bought shit, anybody agree?

I know Lighting Audio isn't the best but I seen a few on here running the amp so I thought maybe it was a good model by them. The funny thing is he got 100% feedback for every amp he sold. The thing about getting my money back is I will have to ship the junk back. I guess it's back to my class ab power hog for now. Thanks guys.

What do you mean by amp swap? I tried one it blew in 10 seconds. The other lasted a half hour. I'm thinking the other buyers gave feedback when they recieved the item or just tested to see if they powered on. They did indeed power on and play for a little while. One very short while.

im going with user error on this one
Such as? I'm a not a noob. I've been into car audio for while. I know what I'm doing and never had a problem like this ever.

maybe you have a shorted VC wire on your sub....
Not likely. It was hooked up to my AB amp and ran just fine before I tried these.

I will try my old amp again tomorrow and see how it goes.

Lightning audio is pretty crappy yeah you got robbed contact ebay. just tell them they dont work (which is true) and they will refund it.

And here we have another uneducated responce about Lightning Audio. Storm Series amplifiers were **** nice.

if you had it and it was working then you went to turn the car and poof it stopped working. then you put the other in and it stoppped working after 30minutes?

I had the other wired up and it was playing for about 5 seconds until I went to turn my car on. It didn't come back on with my car. Blew all fuses. Replaced fuses. It went up in smoke. I wired the other up. Played this one with the car on. Shut it off and after 5 seconds this one quits playing the with the car off. Complete opposite. It's in protect and will not come out. Fuses are not blown I do not believe. I'll check tomorrow to swap back for my old amp.
