ok i got an alpine head unit and it will go up to 35 and it get destorted at 18 why is that the lights start to dim at 12 is it mabe i need a bigger batt and alt and some bigger ground wires???cuz it should go up to about 25 befor it destort am i right??

and at about 17 18 it's vary loud it will almost make you turn it down the hole car shakes and the trunk bows up and down like a 1\2 an inch and the dores to

i got my amps set at the auido shop done with some meater and my bass at a 3\4 way my sub is at 10 out of 15 here my head unit http://www.alpine-usa.com/

First off, what do you mean by distorted? does the sound muffle out and start sounding bad at the specified volume? second, it is normal for your headlights to dim, mine do as well, it is also normal for the car to shake, hey, you want to be loud right, try sound deadner for a remedy on the trunk rattling, that will improve your SQ as well. Third usually you can never turn your volume up more than 2/3's of the way before it starts maxing out. Question, is your amp bridged? If so that is probably your problem, unbridge it if it is and see what happens, if it is your amp is putting out an overload and underperforming do to it. A bigger batt and alt help with these kind of things but are often unnecessary, and your ground wire probably has nothing to do with it, unless it is a poor connection. Hope this advice helps.

it's not the sub amps cuz if i put it at 18 and i open the truck the sub sounds great but the inside speakres dont and there all top of the lind pionees 6buy9's and 5" it's just the inside not the sub i know that for sure mabe i need an amp for my speakers?????

2 5" 2 6buy9's the 5" are 200 watts peak each and the 6buy9's are350 watts peak not sure of the rms on them

and all the speakers are pioneer

a small four channel amp would help them, but they still should sound OK as is, have you check the wiring on them? question, is the bass on your headunit turned up, if so turn it down cause you don't want your inside speakers putting out bass, your sub should be the only thing putting out bass and your amp takes care of providing it for the sub, your insides may also be blown, who knows, but take my adivice on having the bass on your HU down, a friend of mine runs his system with the bass up on his HU and it sounds like !@#$ and his 6x9's blew evetually.
