the nx 5 would do what?

4 ohms: 120 watts x 4 chan. + 200 watts x 1 chan.

2 ohms: 240 watts x 4 chan. + 400 watts x 1 chan.

1 ohm: 800 watts x 1 chan. (Subwoofer channel only)

Bridged, 4 ohms: 480 watts x 2 chan. + 200 watts x 1 chan.

so could i run 120x4 and 800x1??

if i can remember correctly, yes

i also think the NX5 is up to par with the ED five channel

The ED Nine.5 has a much better crossover section than any of the other amps you are contemplating buying.
