Looking to get some opinions/ suggestions for 2 different enclosure/amp rack designs.
Will be going in a 2005 Chevy Tahoe, behind the 2nd row seat and extending to the opening of the rear hatch.
Subs installed will be (2) '08 Kicker L7 15's and amps will be '08 Kicker ZX1500.1 and '08 ZX650.4
The amps will be flush-mounted into the openings, but only surrounded by 2 sides, as to provide better heat ventilation.
Each subs will be chambered with its individual port and will have 4.5 cu ft after all displacements, tuned to 33Hz.
I know that there will be some questions, so I will try to answer them before you ask. If any others, please ask. All criticism is welcomed. (but please no flaming)
1) Around the port openings and amp rack openings, the surface is recessed 1/4''. This is because I will be using 1/4'' black plexi that will be flush-mounted will the wrapped charcoal-grey vinyl, serving no structural purpose, only asthetic.
2) In the 1st design, the face/baffle of the enclosure will be fiberglassed, with the Kicker "K" logo pertruding from the glass (between the subs, closer to the bottom), giving it more cuves and more of a custom look.
3) In the 2nd design, the top surface still has some lines on it. This is because I messed up in Sketchup and if i erased them, some of the 3-D walls would be erased, so dont mind them.
4) Also in the 2nd, design, the Kicker logo is raised on the front. I may or may not do this if I choose this design; I was just bored and felt like doing more work.
5) Finally, in the 2nd design, the subs will be inverted, with the magnets/cones showing.
Both of the sketches are still rough, but to scale. Any and all questions/ comments are welcome. Thanks.
On to the pics!!!
