Definitive: Cold weather = lower output

See i thought about that and actually did that, the frost still appears.

I think it has to do with humidity/SMALL traces of moisture.

When its -20 f its FREEZING, but when im parked at school all day the sun beats down on my trunk and warms it up. So we have Outside trunk = -20 and inside = 30f i think that makes a bit of condensation / moisture and then when night time comes -20 outside and its dark and no sun so -20 or colder inside. Thus Frost.

I live in mn as the poster and i been beating on my subs in the cold for 3 years no problems you just got shitty gear
X2 I'm pretty tough on my stuff when its cold too, just let it warm up a little bit and let er rip!!!

You guys need to understand I dont have a HATCHBACK, when i crank the heat in my car, my trunk doesnt get ANY of that heat. I think at most when its -20 my trunk heats up 2 degrees from my cabin heat.

Not much of a difference.

And i dont have shitty gear, i have a Phoenix Gold RSDC 12" sub and a Hifonics 1606d amp.

If i had some Re's the foam surround would be TOAST from the cold.

any good vids???

Not with the hifonics amp. Its been so cold up here dude, i havent listened to my sub for 3 weeks +
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif i am continuously curious about the rsdc and if I should upgrade to them.....but what I really want is either a 15 or 18" fi Q

maybe its me but i dont believe ure amp shouldnt clip on certain days
Voltage drop could cause clipping.

Cold = More Output from alt and more Voltage to amp, albeit for only a short time.

Try listening to a power hungry amp with only one extra battery-car off-and see how quickly it starts to clip.

for this discussion,

:FYI:BATTERIES DON'T DO WELL IN THE COLD:FYI:

I can`t believe this thread made it to over 100 posts!!!!!!!

Also to those people mentioning that it was so many degrees with the windchill, do you normally have a significant wind blowing through your trunk? Windchill will make things cool off faster but it will not make your equipment colder than the ambient air temperature.
