Dediated sub for 15-30hz?

sealed boxes do not get as low as vented:fyi:
actually i think that could be disputed..........sealed have a more flat response all the way down to the low notes whereas ported boxes have peaks but depending on the tuning frequency may not get as low

just to clear up my side of the dispute, my box produces a flat response down to 30hz and goes -3 at 23hz:fyi:

I wanted flat response and got the bulk of the audible range:D

The argument isn't that YOUR box can get low, its because you stated a generality that sealed CANNOT get lower than ported boxes.

Its all about the install, the gear, and the vehicle. You can easily make a vented box/sub setup that will play loud as hell at 20hz, but you can also make a vented box that only reaches down to 45hz.

Same can be said about sealed. If you choke off a woofer with a very small sealed enclosure, you'll kill all low end extension.

The way I was able to flex the hell out of my vehicle with a single 12" sealed off 250w is because I put the woofer in a .707 QTC alignment (4.2cubes sealed) and this setup allowed the sub to produce some insane low end, but at the same time killed the upper end extension.

for some reason i could not get low end from the rsd's no matter what size the sealed box was:crap:...which is why i went vented
