Ok I am wanting to put a set of highs and mids in my car with one 10" or 12" sub. My car is a coupe and I do not want the trunk to rattle off so I was told to face the sub behind my rear seat facing the passanger compartment. But what size and brand should I go with? I dont want loud bass I just want a nice clean sound quality system, but nothing over the top cause I am not competing or putting a lot of audio stuff in this car. I just want a great sound for the everyday driver. But what subs should I go with on this setup?

if all your looking for is a little extra punch in the bottom end then get a good 10" put it in a sealed box so u don't have a huge box in a little car, and be happy.

on a side note, i have a 10 for sale //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well i am gonna build a custom box and wall off in my trunk so you will never see the sub in my trunk. But I want a punch just not unbelievable to where you wont be able to hear anything but bass. And I dont want just any sub I want sound quality and clear sounds. I have alot of money in my car as is and I aint skiping out on the audio of it. Is hifonics good or bad?

for sq, i'm going to say no. they have some decent stuff. but i wouldn't put it into the SQ department. stuff i would look into would be Oz matrix elite (what i'm selling) ID max, fi Q's are decent SQ. there are some more, but those are just off the top of my head.

I don't know what kind of budget you have but if you're interested in the hifonics subs just steer clear of the lower class subs. Hifonics builds the Brutus subs to be a SQ and SPL cross. They brought back the Atlas's this year which were considered a SQ sub before they redesigned. Also, there's always the MB Quart Premium subwoofers which have faired quite well in the reviews in Car Audio and Electronics and Performance Auto & Sound magazines. The Brutus and MB Quarts run in the $150 to $200 a piece range. But I can imagine the FI, SI, or other's could be had when you get into that price range. I use the Hifonics gear in my own rides because I can't afford very much and the dealers around here only deal in the major brands like Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, some Lightning Audio, Fusion etc and the cheapo's like PowerAcoustic and such that I'll never buy into. The Hifonics gear works great for me and everyone who listens to it really likes the way it sounds. It's not the best stuff but it works for me. If I was you I'd look into the prices of the better brands and if they're too pricey for you and you'd have to have your stuff sooner then I think you would be happy with the Hifonics as long as you did the install right. Good Luck.
