decent t/s tester?

I use Praxis because it has more features but its all 1000 bucks. I have found that there is not much difference in the TSP's between the too, but praxis is a lot nicer with many more features.

Having said that, there is really no point in doing that unless you really don't trust the mfr's specs or you have some off the wall custom thing --seems to be all the rage around here now for some reason. But most people should really invest in a system to measure their vehicle.

This article talks about it:

Data-Bass

That site also will be putting together hundreds of woofers over the next few years with relative measured TS parameters so we'll all have some nice relative and complete specs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Speaker Workshop can do this, measure T/S, and more... and its FREE!!!

However, you will need to setup some stuff to make the program work....

Rod Elliot's website describes the old fashion way to measure T/S... you would need a tone generator, an amp, a good DMM, and a couple of other things...

kyle good read thanks for that nice to see some people doing real measurements, instead of this or that sounds good in my opinion stuff.

who are these guys they dont say much, just that they are audio enthusiasts

lol...... that's why i want it. i want to test all my subs when i'm done building them.... quite a few. other than that, you have the subs you come across the lack any, or have very little provided parameters. the wt2 was discontinued at parts-express, which is why i asked, lol. i'm not really going to be in the business to build up a bunch of custom subs all the time, just a part-time hobby, and i have been storing quite the collection over the years, and subs blow every day, so i'm sure i'll get the rebuild here-and-there. in fact, i would really like to have one last night before i started a truck box, since i could not, for the life of me, locate any t/s info on the sub. just guesstimates off similar predecessors. i'll look into that o/s method. i have plenty supplies/equipment to set something up. is it more accurate than a dayton wt?

Praxis, by liberty instruments, is probably one the best systems you can get for TSP's, it's more expensive than wt. Liberty Instruments also designed the dayton omni mic which will do freq. response, distortion, etc all inside one hand-held device that only requires a USB right to your lab-top - by far the easiest measurement system in a car I have used.

psychoacoustics, im a technical adviser on that site, but I don't handle or measure any of the data. The goal is a comprehensive list of woofers measured by a third party - I feel this is desperately needed in both home and caraudio.
