You could get a Kicker KX650.4 for $170, use the front channels for the comps and bridge the rear channel for a sub, like the CV HED12.2 for $89 shipped.... unless that's still out of your budget.

yes kicker amps are pretty good. i have a zx550.2 and plan to replace my sub amp(MTX) with a second kicker of equal size.

i looked at the hertz component and see a lot of good reviews from them

The JL VR's are very nice. I've had them twice and they sounded excellent. Upgrading to the new C5's for my next intstall.

VR 6.5 coaxials go for about $120-140ish for the pair if my memory serves me right.

if you go sealed prefab boxes aren't always bad. if you want a ported box that is a little tougher.
