deadner help

What bothered me the most was the panels around the back seat windows and the top of the hatch where it meets the roof. Its was a major improvement you will be suprised. I wish I could of heard the set up I have now before I put it in. I went from low power( rattle ), no power, deadner, high power( minimul rattle ).

AT is a nicer deadner IMO too, just when I was looking at it it was a lot more expensive....I went with FATMAT both are very good though. Make sure you press it in very hard **** can come loose in warm weather. 100sq ft should treat you well. And I spent plenty of time trying to isolate all the rattles and just used a ton around them seemed to help a lot for me. Good luck with the project, you will be pleased with the result pretty much gaurenteed. My car sounds much nicer with 100 ft of deadner in it.

You should only need about 50 sq ft at most if not less than that. A trunk is usually about 20-25 sq ft. Two doors is about 10-15 sq ft. Personally though I would stay away from any deadener that uses asphalt.

i was hopin you would answer lol.. that would be enough to do my hatch pretty thoroughly and both doors thoroughly also? and do you make a foam product or recommend one to go along side your product i want to fill open spots with foam to help rattles.

A back hatch would be about 5-10 sq ft so you are right at about 35-50 sq ft total to properly deaden all you are wanting to do with a quality product. Shoot me a pm with more information on the foam you are looking for and I will see if I can help you out.

If you relally wanna save monies you could always scrap tar off the roads //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Yeah the smell of tar ain't exactly fun, don't know how healthy the fumes are for ya. Just a Tip you don't have to lay it all out perfect you can overlap the strips becuase it makes the mass different at different spots on the metal therefore making it a lot harder for the metal to resonate.

ok good stuff thanks

Personally Fatmat isn't the way to go unless you are using megamat. The rest isn't butyl as far as I know. AT 80 mil will be comparable to SS Damp Pro. So it will be great for the price. Do it once, do it right.

Yes, stay away from asphalt based mats. Butyl based mat is MUCH more heat resistant, does not dry out and loose its elastomeric qualities (which asphalt mat is already poor on), and it does not require heating to be properly applied. Butyl mat is simply superior to asphalt in every way except price. I said asphalt mat has butyl beat in price, I did not say value.

This...like everything else you get what you pay for. I'm just fine with Fatmat it does well for what it is, i'd call that value. However if I had monies I'd get some buytl

Is it value when in a year or two, you have to take it all out because it has dried and hardedned, then go buy butyl anyway?
