dead battery need help

I a yellow top optima with 500 cca. an amp that puts out 1800 watts rms wwith a 3 farad cap. I went to start me 2002 lancer today and the battery was dead. this has happened quite a bit now and I was wonderwing what i should do. get a new yellow top with more cca/ca or what? i have not done the big three yet. also if any of you know a good site to get a ho alt for a decent price let me know. the cheapest i found for my car was like 600 bucks. thanks for any comments.

 
excessiveamperage.com - Nathan. Awesome guy. I've picked up three different alt's through him insofar. For example: 250amp alt Ford 5.0 @ $300ish. Works great.

How do You have the capacitor installed... is it trying to charge to a 14.4 float at all times (including ignition off). Some (retarded) models have been known to do that, I dont recall why or which.

Where do You have the remote lead (for the amplifiers) sourced from? The HU or fuse box...?

I have the turn on coming the head unit and my cap tells the volts that its getting and it says that there is 14ish volts regularly but wwhen the bass hits it sometimes drops to like 10.5/11ish. and when the ignition is off the cap is off except right when i turn the car off it will stay on for like a minute. as for the wiring to the cap i have it grounded with 4 gauge wire to the chassis( separate from where the amp is ground) and the power coming from the battery to the cap to the amp.

beside dom irragi, where else can i buy a HO alt. for a honda? does anybody know? ps sorry for hijacking thread.

I once had a problem with my battery dieing overnight and found that a relay for the daytime running lights/alternator voltage regulator/H-vac system was faulty and stuck in the closed position so when I shut my car off all those systems were still energized. I could hear an electrical hum coming from the alternator when the car was off, which is what tipped me off to the bad relay.

 
A yellow top is a deep cycle, it isnt dead... unless you have totally drained it thousands of times (you havent). Yellow tops are NOT good starting batteries. Some people never have problems with them as starters but I wouldnt recommend it. Get a red top (or any walmart battery) for a starter and put the yellow in the trunk.

 
how do i put a batery in the trunk, i've heard it was pretty dificult , proper ventilation, routing wires etc.etc. how much is a red top and where are some good places to buy one. also any other good places to get a ho alt. excessive amperage doesnt have on for a mits lancer. thanks for al the help

IMHO Iraggi alt's are not worth the metal. 60% of 'em are fine, the other 40% are not.
