I'm thinkin bout ordering a Z1a to replace my 2 2500ds. Anyone hav any opinions? I'm gettin a good deal on it for preorder. What do yall think of these amps? They're supposed to be a whole new amp compared to the Z1, which i heard had a high failure rate in the first couple of batches released.

Also, if anyone wants to preorder one PM me. I can also get some deals on other large amps if anyones interested.

Initi al1% THD figures from an Audio Precision:

Power at 4 ohm : 1800 W x 1 @ 14.4V

Power at 2 ohm : 3300 W x 1 @ 14.4V

Power at 1 ohm : 5700W x 1 @ 14.4V

Power at 1 ohm : 4100 W x 1 @ 12V

Power at 1 ohm : 6700W x 1 @ 16V

you know these specs already but i just want to kinda throw them back at you again.... and again i must say that the Z1 had a few problems.... and that is why they are making the Z1a... and while making it they decided to make it stronger..... so all the problems that existed in the old Z1 should be basically gone....

I think those numbers where the original released, before the first amp was put out. Now I've heard they are closer to 6k@1ohm at 12-12.5v .

Is Z1a out? I thought they are supposed to be out after summer...

Last time I checked from a dealer the Z1, was $1200. Keep in mind thats a dealer, so price may very.

They aren't out yet. The connection i got is preorder, and its well under the 2k+ retail price on teh Z1a.
