Good morning. Has anyone used these amps? Considering their reputation Im sure more that just a few have. I was thinking of using one of these amps for my bottom end. Could some one give me some feed back on cost, performance, sound, power draw etc...I would like to power my 2 Stroker pro 12's with one of them. I have two Zapco C2k 4.0 amps that will be running my top end. I guess Im wondering if it will mesh with what Im trying to do. Meaning really loud SQ for my top end( Morel 9 inch woofer that will be in the door 4 and 1 1/18 tweet in the A pillar also Morel. Along a 6 and another 1 1/18 in some kicks which is also Morel). Im not asking to be flamed just for some honest advice from the good people on this fourm. Thank you for your time.

I'm using a z1 right now not the z1a. and all I can say is that they are very powerful. Very clean power and sound good. but there is about 1000 amps draw at full tilt. It takes a lot to power these amps. and the 1000 amps is the z1. I do suggest something a little less powerful for the strokers. because they will blast about everything you have in your vehicle. and stroker pros's are not really a sq sub. They are just loud... thats my opinion. for everything to be baleced i'd say drop the power or get some re12 xxx 12's a little better on sq and will handle the power your wanting to throw at them but still ...

1000 amps of current draw from a Z1? Not gonna happen. That'd insinuate 8-10k worth of power....again, not gonna happen.

I just finished repairing one, and it was only drawing 370ish amps at full tilt no clip at 12.2xV during the durability testing. Lots of power.

I run a pair of Z1a's in a single battery street setup. These amps are very powerfull and are fairly effecient for the amount of power they produce.

If you put enough battery power behind them you will be very happy and your subs will hate you.

deinitly get enough bats for them.

and i'd sell the strokers and get some dd 9512's, sundown nightshades, re mt's or fi btl's.

any of these "spl" sub will sound sweet as orange juice in a low volume low tuned box. my btl 15 is in 3 cubs @ 33hz and gets pissloud while sounding very musical.

Thanks for the info. I will be running 4 kenitek 2400 batteries in a battery rack under my truck. They (amps) will have plenty of juice. Now I just need to upgrade my Alternator. Which has been a pain the the a$$. I cant seem to find one for an 06 Tundra. Big three has been done in 1/0. Thanks again.

Oh yea does anyone know a ball park figure on these amps? I was also thinking of just staying with Zapc and getting 2 C2K9.0D' 1 per sub. I would sell the strokers ( MR Bass AddictJ ) but I paid way to much for them. Not to mention their new still in the their boxes or crates and have never seen anypower or daylight for that matter haha. Thanks again.

I have to disagree with getting 'SPL' subs and tuning them low. Most SPL subs tend to have a peaky response compared to other subs designed to work in low tuned boxes for daily musical situations. If SPL subs were so musical, we'd see alot more MT's and 9500's in SQ setups. Even most of the manufacturers who produce these subs offer a more daily friendly sub as well... that should tell you something.
