dd subs?

Why not tune DD's low? Reason?
something with how tight the suspension is on it, and for it to get loud it needs to be tuned higher (40hz) and can still carry under that because of its build, idk..kinda talking out of my ***, but thats the gist..

Look at the 3500 series. Tuning of 38 vs the DD recommended 40 is NOT a reason to get a different sub, jeez fellas. You can build a box tuned lower. You might try the recommended box first for a few weeks and see how you like it.

thats what i thought i need to b around 38,dam n i guess i could do one Bl i been looking around here for stuff, thanks i wanted to try one for a long time.
the dd in my ava is tuned to 38hz and the 3510 in my s-10 is tuned to 37hz.

i had a 2510 tuned to 35hz and it did great.

imo, with the power you have(1.2k) i would go with a 2512 or 2515. they will be right at home with that power.

the 3500's are an excellent choice as well but would need twice that power to get things done.

dont think you want to tune a dd low, atleast thats what i read/told

All of the above said is incorrect //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You can tune them low. They won't be as loud tuned low as they would at 40 hz. But regardless, I have a DD 3510 in a 1.6 cubic foot box at 30 hz. This was designed to be in my truck. We put it in my buddies t-top camaro and did a 133.5 @ 41 hz. First of all, I know this isn't a high score. But realize, this box was designed for a truck. It was not cranked all the way because I was trying to find the peak frequency in his car. The dumbshit meca judge told me not to turn it up anymore. Once this box is in my truck, we'll see what it can actually hit.
