Dd = sql?

I just got a 9500 motor that I'm thinking of reconing into a 15". My question is, would it make a good daily on music? I would like to tune it around 34Hz and put about 2K to it. What are your thoughts?
Do u know what series 9500 motor u have? G,H?? Just curious having hard time finding a pair of H's for a friend..

lol yeah, a 9500 series having any sort of "SQ"... big ole fatty stack of stiff spiders... honestly DD drivers are just loud. and yes i know im preparing for all sorts of people to go ape **** over my statement but argue otherwise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

they also have a huge *** motor so they respond fast and they don't over peak on the low end. DD does better then SD or DC at sq.

Im not arguing that they are better than Sundown or DC. ive owned one sub from both companies. Was impressed on the one notes but over all not really... as far as DD, a large motor does mean faster response, but does not mean greater SQ... means one hell of a good burping sub woofer. You can have a big ole motor and a hefty gap to accommodate a large heavy coil, still does not mean SQ. Higher power handling yes, SQ no. IF the op went with a lets say a single soft spider or two soft spiders with a spacer to help keep things linear on higher excursion then the woofer MIGHT sound better, but at this point its worthless to have wasted such a large motor to simply try and get "SQL" out of a purely SPL beast motor.

Not doing any burps or comps. This is going in a "blow thru" of an avalanche, and will be used as strictly a daily beater. Maybe "SQL" might have been the wrong this to post, lol. But I do want something that can & will sound good with a wide range of music from rap to country.
