i was wondering if someone can give me some good dimensions for a digital designs 3500 series 10" sub. it's in a jeep cherokee and i want it to be ported. so any suggestions would be great. also what kind of amp for around 250 would be good for that?

typically if you want some SQ out of it then DD recommends around 3.5cuft or more for a sub. now i know with the 15"s of that series they actually suggest 6.5cuft a piece so i would go around 3-4cuft. now as far as amp anything that puts out around 800-1000watts rms will do nicely. not sure what could do that maybe a jbl600.1

I agree with him.... DD woofers enjoy large enclosures, I'd also reccomend 3 cubes or so.. since he's got plenty of room in the jeep...

sspider yes i mean for 1 sub. DD told me for best performance from my 3515's try to get 13cuft. tuned to 45hz. that is what the sales team and tech team told me to do if i had the space. ask bigbassman if you disagree i'm just going on what i was told.

nah, i dont disagree at all.....i was just alil annoyed, because had i known that, i owuld have tried to make my box bigger..

i went to the website and did wut they had there....

But is 5 cuft tuned to 45 for 2 3512 g0od?

sspider

it will most likely be very boomy bass with very little SQ even though DD's aren't designed for SQ. only 1 way to find out my man trial and error, if you don't like the way they sound build as big of a box as you can for them. i know i've got a 4.5 for a pair of blaupunkt overdrive subs and those don't like big box's but typically are mainly SPL, mine have some SQ though. just try and see sspider.

i think i'm gonna just plaug everything in real to see how it sounds, i wont really be able to "play" with my subs for some time, not even half way near to finishing my car....and i have heard nothing about my edead shipment...ordered a few days ago, nothing still...

oh, another question.....the subs are VERY STIFF, i asked the dd guy how to break them in and he told to beat them up, and that it would take 6 months for the suspension to really loosen up......should i go ahead and abuse them straight out, or wut?

sspider

see i noticed that about mine too, my friend was like god **** were gonna have a hard time breaking these subs in. i'm tempted to make a cd of like 1 track 50 min of pink noise and play that without being in the car for 50 min then see how they work. ask bigbassman that one though.
