we can do a new box for ya if ya really want. but since we have the 18 box still sitting around why not use it.

This was my exact thought. that box is 6 @30hz, im near positive. I may get energetic and build another one

Too low for a dd. They don't play well below 35hz in my experience. It'll sound fine but not the ideal setup for them IMO

Mine were fine @ 33.

That is fine for an 18, but I have heard that all DDs should be tuned higher for their full potential. If you already have the box, just run it and see. Most people told me to tune all DDs around the 34-36 range.

Usually 18s like between 27-30, though.

OP, if you would like a design I would be happy to do one. Shoot me a PM with all possible information. I can do a wide range of designs and am sure we will find what is most optimal given your woofers, vehicle, and listening expectations.

Dj himself has even said to tune higher. Most people who run them tuned above 32hz, all size woofers. I would never recommend tuning a dd below 32 or a tc above 32. If you're gonna tune at 30hz I'd look at something other than dd is all I'm saying

I would say go to smaller enclosure then your 6ft3 idea. I would drop down to around 4.5 or 5 max and do around 72-80in2 of port area and tune around 32-33 hz

This is just a rough idea of what to do, but that will be about what you would be the most happiest with I would bet.

Difference is; your post was subjective, mine was objective (non-debatable). Also why you dont design my enclosures, Im not clouded by stigma or word of mouth.

Just put it in the box you have and see if you like it. No harm in doing that, then improving on the design to pick up what you feel is lacking.
